Third Place INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS Plan Competition

Wolff Center For Entrepreneurship, our students form Intellectual Property (IP) business plan teams to represent WCE and the Bauer College of Business in coveted business plan competitions held throughout the world. Each team chooses an IP that is either licensed from the University of Houston or from NASA. In a year long process, our students build a real-world, commercially viable business plan around this technology with the goal of getting it into market. The teams are guided through the process by WCE professors and an outside mentoring advisory group.

During this collaboration process I worked closely with Business students working on Ripple a Sponsored NASA water decontamination system. Working remotely, from CA I was tasked to redesign the system for the average home. Looking into many solutions we figured integrating the system with the refrigerator was the best option for this household appliance. During the duration of this project, we were instructed to create a business plan for the product to take to market collecting user feedback collecting signatures from companies that would license our product if we decided to take this to market. At the end of this project, we presented our product at a Kick-Start type of Competition event which we were awarded third place!
